Literary Critics on Yahya Hassan

Yesterday norwegian critic Knut Hoem reviewed Audun Mortensens latest book. He then mentioned a statement from another critic about Yahya Hassan’s book of poems and how it makes relativity impossible. What he found in Mortensen’s book was the opposite; an openness where the reader filled in the blanks. Hoem immediately modified himself, questioning weather such a categorization was apt.

Well, was this really a categorizing? Hoem repeated a claim from another critic, he doubled a categorization, he didn’t base it on his own reading of Hassan’s book.

However he seem to add himself to the commenters who are labeling Hassan and the muslims as a defined group of people, i.e. a group who’s not in the public debates, a definition established and maintained by the journalists themselves.
